Eidetic Memory Exhibition
New Work Featured in Group Exhibition: Eidetic Memory
I’m pleased to share that my piece Phosphene, from the New Paradigm series, is currently being exhibited as part of Eidetic Memory, a group show curated by artist Gary Edward Blum. The exhibition runs from 15–22 July and gathers artists exploring the visual mechanics of memory, its flickers, distortions, and quiet insistence on being seen.
The concept of eidetic memory, often referred to as photographic memory, provides a compelling foundation for this exhibition. It suggests not only an ability to recall images with extraordinary precision, but also a deeper, more fluid relationship between perception and recollection. Memory, as Bertrand Russell suggested, “demands an image.” Whether imagined or precise, these internal images help us shape experience into something graspable.
Phosphene was created with this in mind. It exists in a liminal space - floating between presence and absence, structure and entropy. The work continues my exploration of geological forms that defy physical laws. Like a half-remembered dream or the residual glow behind closed eyes, Phosphene reflects a moment where memory and perception blur into abstraction. The forms it contains aren’t fixed; they vibrate between solidity and illusion, much like the fragile nature of what we try to remember.

The wider exhibition features a brilliant and diverse group of artists whose practices touch on similar terrain, from visual disorientation and reassembly to quiet gestures of remembering. Together, these works form a conversation about the way memory reconstructs our experience: omitting, preserving, overwriting, and ultimately transforming.
