License Fine Art Photography by Tom Leighton

Available to license for commercial, editorial, and interior use.

Every image in the portfolio originates through location photography or composite photographic processes developed over years of experience. My work spans geological formations, coastal environments, botanical subjects, architecture, and constructed cityscapes, all transformed through an extreme approach to colour and atmosphere that shifts familiar places into something unfamiliar and immersive.

I create photography intended to hold attention, whether encountered in print, within a publication, across an interior space, or as part of a wider visual campaign.

Most of the images on the website are available for licensing. If you are interested in licensing works please send enquiries and screenshots of the required images to licensing@tleighton.com

My photography spans a number of long-form series exploring geology, architecture, landscape, and constructed environments.

Geological and coastal photography forms a major part of the archive. These works focus on rock formations, mineral surfaces, erosion patterns, strata, and tidal environments photographed across Cornwall, Morayshire, and other coastal regions. Through colour manipulation and detailed photographic processing, the landscapes become abstracted while still remaining rooted in real geology and place.

The botanical and nature-based series explore foliage, photosynthesis, water, texture, and plant structures through close observation and experimental colour treatment. These photographs sit somewhere between scientific observation and abstraction, creating images that feel simultaneously organic and unfamiliar.

Alongside the nature inspired series, I also create large-scale composite photography. These works combine hundreds of original photographs to construct fictional cityscapes, impossible geological environments, and gravity-defying landscapes. Although heavily manipulated, the source material remains entirely photographic. These works are have been used in hospital installations, commercial offices and editorial projects.

Photography from across the portfolio is available to license.

Editorial licensing is available for magazines, books, journals, newspapers, publishing, academic use, and online features.

Commercial licensing is available for advertising campaigns, branding, packaging, websites, presentations, social media campaigns, and promotional material.

Licensing is available for both interior and exterior projects for hotels, restaurants, offices, private developments, healthcare spaces, and corporate environments. Many works are particularly suited to large-scale installation due to their detail, atmosphere, and spatial qualities.

Digital licensing is available for websites, online publications, digital displays, presentations, and campaign use.

Broadcast and moving image usage can also be discussed where required.

If required, licensed images can also be adapted for a particular application. Retouching and image development services are available for crop adjustments, alternate formats, colour refinements, compositing, and installation requirements.

Bespoke photographic commissions are also available. This includes geological photography, architectural studies, botanical work, and large-scale composite imagery developed around a specific brief, location, palette, or environment.

Licensing a photograph means paying for the right to use a specific image in a defined way, for a defined period, within a defined territory. Copyright remains with the photographer unless otherwise agreed. A written licence agreement sets out exactly how the image can be used, giving clarity to both parties.

Pricing depends on the intended use, duration, territory, scale of distribution, and whether exclusivity is required. Smaller editorial projects and straightforward digital usage are covered through a simple licensing structure, while commercial campaigns, international usage, hospitality installations, and exclusive rights are quoted individually.

If you're unsure what type of licence is needed, simply send over the details of the project and I can advise on the most suitable option.

All licensing is rights-managed. This means each agreement is tailored to the specific use.

If a project requires something more specific, bespoke licensing agreements can be developed around the exact scope of the work.

The portfolio is also available for curated interior projects, art consultancy placement, and large-scale commercial environments. I regularly work with designers, consultants, publishers, and brands looking for photography that moves beyond generic stock imagery and has a stronger visual identity and sense of authorship.
